Get a Tax Credit and Improve Your Childs Health!
March 2nd, 2008 by Coach
Starting with the 2007 tax year, the Government of Canada allows a non-refundable tax credit based on eligible fitness expenses paid by parents to register a child in a prescribed program of physical activity.
*Steel City CrossFit qualifies as an eligible fitness expense for children’s fitness. * For detailed information on the Child Tax Credit, please see: http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca
Below are the guidelines for eligible programs and how we meet them:
- Canada Revenue requires programs to be a minimum of eight consecutive weeks
- We offer a variety of monthly or longer agreements with option to extend.
- Canada Revenue requires the program to be supervised
- We have certified and insured coaches guiding everything from start to finish.
- Canada Revenue requires the program be suitable for children
- We currently work with kids in the 6-18 age range and they are some of our best athletes.
- Canada Revenue requires the program to include a significant amount of physical activity that contributes to cardio endurance, muscular strength, endurance, flexibility, etc.
- We have way too many accomplishments to list - check out our record
board for a glimpse at what our athletes can do. I’ll give you a teaser, we have 50 year old women who can out lift and out perform starting high school football players, we have Kids who have never been “athletic” excelling at sports and winning track meets.
Parents, please get in touch to make sure you have proper receipts from us. Kids, please let your parents know they could be saving some money on their tax return this year!
